March 21, 2024 - Superintendent Mike Kuhlman informed Hart District families that he will be stepping down at the end of the school year. After 27 years with the district, Kuhlman has accepted the position of Superintendent for the El Dorado Union High School District in Northern California.
"This decision is bittersweet," Kuhlman shared in his message. He wanted to return to his roots near Sacramento, and he had to take this opportunity.
Kuhlman said that he appreciated the Board of Trustees and the Santa Clarita Valley community. He highlighted the cherished friendships he's made and the accomplishments he witnessed during his tenure.
The Board will outline the next steps for the district leadership transition at upcoming meetings. Superintendent Kuhlman assured a smooth handover and said he remains committed to serving the district until his last day on June 30, 2024.
"It's been an honor leading this exceptional district," Kuhlman concluded. "I have no doubt the future of Hart remains bright."
